Who are the Hawaii Royal Honor Guards?
The Hawaii Royal Honor Guard was originally formed in 1989 by Commander Adam Marumoto at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, located in the famous Waikiki, and was known at that time as "The Hilton Hawaiian Village Guard". Commander Marumoto guided the team to win the 1989 World Championships in Daytona, Florida. Since then many young men have honored the ranks of the guards and have gone on to win a many world titles and national titles for Military Exhibition Rifle Drill. In 2009 the Hilton Hawaiian Village Guards lost their entertainment contract and dawned a new name, "Hawaii Royal Honor Guard". Since then, the H.R.H.G. continue to perform for private and public events, perpetuating the unique style of rifle drill and traditions that the H.R.H.G. and other Hawaiian Professional Drill Teams strive to maintain.
